If you've been watching the telly every now and then, you'll no doubt realize that Brussels and europe are highly related. Most summits, big meetings and conferences happen in Brussels, that tiny little capital of Belgium that doesn't have a government since a year and a half. This also means that most eu offices are based in brussels, around the socalled european quarter.
being based in brussels also, and working in the digital media sector, I can see the rising demand for digital presence and social media awareness across eu institutions and businesses. It seems everyone is getting interns to tweet, put things on facebook and basically pretend to be social. A lot of work is still to be done though - there are only a few companies who have really embraced the digital possibilties of today. One of those companies is viEUws - a company providing a platform for debate on EU affairs by interviewing politicians and commissioners and putting these on their website.
With demand rising, I believe platforms like this will become more and more popular across the EU political landscape. A lot of expertise is still missing though, making the Brussels EU region a prime locations for businesses active in digital marketing.
